HEARING TEST
A hearing examination at Hearing Aids, Inc. includes three components:
Air Conduction Test
Discrimination of Word Testing
Bone Conduction Test
The experts at Hearing Aids, Inc. have been performing this series of tests for decades and can quickly identify the type of hearing loss you have and if a hearing aid will remedy it.
AIR CONDUCTION TEST
Hearing is made of different frequencies. The frequency test determines the loss at each frequency level. A series of beeps or tones through a headset is heard during this exam.
DISCRIMINATION OF WORD TEST
One- and two-syllable words are quickly introduced and the customer is asked to repeat the words that they hear. Degree of understanding and hearing loss is determined by the percent of correct words repeated back.
BONE CONDUCTION TEST
The bone conduction test determines if the hearing loss occurs in the middle ear of the cochlea. An small oscillator is placed behind the ear and gives pure tone results. The customer hears a series of beeps and tones.
